Now here is an automotive face-off that I think every enthusiast on the planet can get behind. In one corner we’ve got the iconic Ferrari F40, a car that according to many Ferrari enthusiasts is perhaps the best prancing horse ever made. It’s powered by a twin-turbo V8 that pumps out 478 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. It goes from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, runs a top speed of 201 mph and crushes the 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds. Not too shabby for a car that began production in 1987. Next up is the Porsche 959. Powered by a twin-turbo charged flat-six that made 443 hp and 369 ft-lb of torque, it blitzed to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, runs the 1/4 mile in 11.8 seconds and hits the terminal wall at 197 mph. These automobiles are icons of the 1980′s and are to this day, considered to be some of the most collectible sports cars on the planet. Seeing just one of them in person is a rare sight, but seeing both together on a race track, well that’s just epic. Click through for the video and prepare to watch two iconic super cars go head to head.
